Jumbo Electronics accepts returns and exchanges for seven days from delivery or in-store collection, if the item is unopened or meets its category rules. Opened items that are not faulty carry a 15% restocking fee, activated devices cannot be returned, and refunds for online orders go back to the original payment method within seven business days of approval. Everything below comes from Jumbo's return and exchange policy, checked on 11 October 2026.
How long do you have to return to Jumbo?
Seven days from delivery, or from the day you collect the order in store. You can start the return at any Jumbo store in the UAE, through the helpline or WhatsApp on 600-532395, or by email to customer.care@jumbo.ae. Keep the original invoice or order confirmation, because a return without one is refused.
What condition the item must be in
The rules depend on the category:
| Category | What Jumbo asks for |
|---|---|
| IT, gaming, smart devices, networking, cameras, multimedia | Unopened, unused and complete, with packaging, manuals, accessories and intact seals, plus the original invoice. Jumbo may decline after inspection. |
| Home appliances, audio and video | Return is subject to approval by the manufacturer's authorised service centre. Handling charges may apply within the seven days. |
| Open box and display units | Final sale unless proven defective within seven days, returned complete with all accessories. |
If you are buying a laptop or a console and are not sure it suits you, the safest approach is to check specifications before opening the box. Once the seal is broken, a change of mind costs you 15%.
What Jumbo will not take back
The policy lists these exclusions:
- Damaged, incomplete or used products, or items missing packaging or accessories.
- Broken or tampered seals.
- Activated products. A phone or tablet you have set up counts as activated.
- Scratched or redeemed activation codes, gaming credits and gift cards.
- Devices with an active security lock such as Find My iPhone or Google Lock.
- Orders where a VAT refund has already been processed.
- A second exchange on the same order.
- Accessories, hard drives and USB sticks, software, movies, music and games, printer cartridges and toners, personal care products, headphones and earphones, gaming cards, and extended warranties such as Jumbo Salama and AppleCare.
Two of these catch people out. Headphones are non-returnable even if sealed, so try them in a store first. And if you claimed a tourist VAT refund on departure, the item can no longer be returned.
What a return costs
- Restocking fee: 15% on non-defective opened items returned within the allowed period. Some categories may carry a restocking fee as well.
- Pickup charges: may apply to online or in-store return pickups depending on your location.
- Non-refundable fees: delivery, service, installation and restocking fees are not refunded once acknowledged.
- Coupon and promotional prices: coupon discounts are deducted from the refund, and promotional items are refunded at the discounted price.
A worked example with those rules: you open a AED 1,200 speaker that works but does not suit you. If the return is accepted, 15% is AED 180, so the refund is about AED 1,020 before any pickup charge. If you paid AED 20 for delivery, that fee also stays with Jumbo.
How refunds and exchanges are paid
- Online orders are refunded to the original payment method. Purchases paid with gift cards or Etihad Miles come back as Jumbo gift vouchers.
- In-store purchases are refunded as a credit note.
- Refunds are processed within seven business days of return approval.
- On an exchange, you pay the difference if the new item costs more. If it costs less, the difference comes as a Jumbo gift voucher. Exchanges go ahead once the returned item reaches the warehouse and is approved.
If you paid with Easy Pay, the processing fee is not refunded on a return, according to Jumbo's Easy Pay page. Our guide to paying less at Jumbo works through what that fee adds.
Faulty on arrival
A product that is dead on arrival, or does not work as the manufacturer describes, is inspected first. Eligible items are exchanged or refunded after verification, which Jumbo says can take three to five business days. Report it within the seven days and keep every accessory.
Delivery terms that affect returns
Jumbo's delivery page lists standard delivery at AED 20, free above AED 2,000, express delivery at AED 25 for eligible orders before 5 pm, and free Click & Collect with a five-day pickup limit. Click & Collect has a practical advantage: you can open the box at the counter and check the model before you leave. Large appliances such as fridges, dishwashers and TVs above 65 inches are listed for delivery and installation; free installation depends on the product page.
