Is The ENTERTAINER App Worth It? How Buy One Get One Free Works

The ENTERTAINER pays off only if you redeem enough offers to beat the membership price. How buy one get one free works at the table, the rules that limit it, and a way to work out your break-even.

The ENTERTAINER is worth it if the free items you redeem in a year are worth more than the membership, which is SAR 285 for Saudi Arabia and SAR 795 for the GCC in 2027. Most offers are buy one get one free, the restaurant deducts the cheaper item, and the rules on group size, exclusions and blackout days decide how many offers you can use. The rest of this guide sets out those rules so you can do the sum for your own habits.

How a buy one get one free offer works

The Saudi page says most offers are buy one get one free and valid for the items listed in each offer. In a casual dining restaurant, for example, you buy one main course and get a second main free. Other categories work a little differently:

  • Dining: two mains for the price of one.
  • Activities: two for one at waterparks, theme parks and days out.
  • Wellness: spas, salons and fitness at half the bill.
  • Hotels: a second night free at multiple destinations.

With the standard membership you get three core offers per merchant, plus reusable Bonus Offers.

The rules that decide what you save

These come from The ENTERTAINER's Rules of Use and dining offer rules, checked 11 October 2026.

  • Show the offer first. Present it before paying or asking for the bill.
  • The cheaper item is free. When you order 2 or more items, the restaurant deducts the least expensive one.
  • No stacking. Offers are not valid with other discounts, promotions, special menu items or loyalty programmes.
  • One use covers every branch. Once you redeem an offer at one branch, it shows as redeemed at every branch of that merchant.
  • One bill per table. Bills cannot be split to apply more offers.
  • Eat in. Dining offers do not cover delivery or takeaway unless the offer says so. Some markets have separate delivery offers.

Group size

Buy one get one free dining and activity offers are redeemed once between 2 people. Larger groups get more offers, up to a cap.

A person eating alone cannot use a buy one get one free dining offer. 50% off and some wellness, retail and services offers are for individual use.

What a "main course" excludes

Unless the offer says otherwise, main course offers do not cover breakfast, starters, sides, desserts, buffets and themed nights, combos, kids' menus, shared platters, sharing dishes, mezze or items priced per kilogram. If your usual order at a restaurant is mezze and grills by weight, check the offer terms before counting on it.

Saudi blackout days

The exclusion days list for Saudi Arabia is 1 January, Eid Al Fitr, Eid Al Adha, Islamic New Year, Ramadan iftars, National Day and 31 December, plus any other public holiday the government announces. Merchants can still decide on the day. Some outlets may also close over summer, Ramadan and religious holidays.

Working out whether it pays off

The sum is the membership price divided by the value of a typical free item. The free item is the cheaper of the two, so use the price of the cheaper main you would order.

As an illustration only: if the cheaper main in a pair is SAR 60, the Saudi membership at SAR 285 needs 5 redemptions to break even, and each one after that is a saving. At SAR 40 a main, it needs 8. Swap in the prices at the places you go. The membership price guide covers the Saudi and GCC options, family sharing and code AD41.

Three questions get you close to an answer:

  1. Do the places you already go take part? Create a free account in the app and search them before buying.
  2. Do you eat out in pairs or groups? Solo meals do not count for dining offers.
  3. How many offers will you use per merchant? Three core offers each, shared across family accounts.

The page's own "save up to SAR 4,845" figure for the Saudi membership is the company's ceiling. Your number depends on the answers above.

Who it suits, and who it does not

It tends to suit couples and families who eat out or take day trips together several times a month, at merchants in the app, on ordinary days. It suits a household that can share one membership among up to 4 people and go out together.

It suits less well if you mostly eat alone, order delivery, dine during Ramadan iftar, or prefer breakfast and sharing plates. In those cases fewer of your outings qualify.
